I'm seriously scared. Yesterday I brought a tuning fork to youth group, simply because I used on my head. People noticed it and it instantly became one of those, "let me see that" objects. I had to ask repeatedly to get it back.

Was Shlimazel right?

They are pretty cool, until you realize they're not that interesting. I prefer pitch pipes myself.

that has happened to a lot of people(except with different objects), shlimazel probably was right, but that can happen with a lot of objects, thats why I simply don't make my ownership of a lot of items public.

Tuning forks are fun to play with and they aren't at all common these days. I'm not surprised that any people, even musicians, would have a good time with one.

Pitch Pipes are where it's at.
Although I did get a lot more popular when I brought my Rubiks Cube to school... until I asked someone if they'd solve it for me.

What exactly prompted this tuning fork adventure? Was it "bring an object to talk about" day at school or something?

The tuning fork is officially recognized as dominant meme on my forum. I'm not surprised to see that people understand the vast awesomeness of the tuning fork.

They are kind of cool to hit and then hold next to your ears.

IT POSSESSES NO AWESOMENESS. It is for instrument tuning and mild entertainment. You already denounced it.

Don't I remember you saying something like, "Of course it's stupid!" after being ridiculed for saying something like, "Of course it needs humans to use it, that's why it made humans!"?

"Funny because it's stupid" isn't really that funny.

My major concern is how one would use a tuning fork on oneself...

Hit your knee, or other hard surface. Touch both edges at once to your palm, face, or head, but-wait what the heck? I'm telling you how to use a tuning fork on yourself?!?!

Someone find a way I can blame this on the least appreciated board member (and tell me who that board member is).
