Works fine in Classic 9.2 but doesn't work on my OS 8 computer (old PowerMac, not Mac OS X).

Hmm, that's strange...if the addons page could be accessed, I could upload unstuffed ones there...

I guess you could upload an add-on to a different game and have the Cythera file as an "extra". :P

If you're suggesting uploading it to the add-ons page of another game, somehow, I don't think that action would be approved of by that page's moderators...

If we could just upload them uncompressed, then I'm sure that they'd work on any computer. I don't know if Sfiera wants them uncompressed, though. Perhaps they could be emailed?

I think I tried emailing them earlier...I could try again, I guess (probably not at this exact moment though).

Actually, it turns out that moderators have a larger attachment allocation, so I tried to upload an uncompressed copy of the save file that leads to the Tree of Life.

It said "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file." I'm afraid that it won't work unless it's compressed in some way :P .

Is Cheating allowed? You could stick a false extension on it, & say that one has to delete the extension in the Info Panel.... That would cause confusion for many people who don't like reading though :P

I'm not sure. In OS X, it shows as a Cythera X document, but it has the terminal icon. I think that the upload system may think that it's a terminal application and refuse to allow it to upload.

I could be wrong, but I think that the files are showing up on the addons page now :P .

Yes, they do seem to be. Unfortunately, they were still uploaded as .sitx files, so TwoJacks will probably still have the problem of not being able to unstuff them on an older Mac. What we need to do is find a different form of compression. Perhaps .zip might work?

Either that or Jehezekel's idea may work, like naming it "Tree.<whatever Cythera's file extension is>.jpg" That may well fool the file uploader, but still preserve the file. Guess we'll have to see what works.

Or just use .sit?

If the new StuffIts can't do .sit I can do it myself.

Actually, I think that the issue was that it refused to upload .sit, but I could be wrong. I'd have to check again.

I am. I don't have Classic on my OSX computer, but I do have Cythera on my OS9 computer. Like I've said before I get an error message while downloading, I think because they were compressed/made in OSX.

TwoJacks, now that Selax is a moderator, he should have enough attachment space to upload these files uncompressed. Unfortunately, the file uploader for the forums doesn't recognize the Cythera save format (no surprise), so he will have to add a false extension which you should later be able to remove. I will speak with him regarding this again and see if we can get the files up in the next couple of days.

I don't think that adding false extensions will work: at least, it didn't when I tried it with .jpg or .jpeg.

That's odd. Perhaps we can try .txt or some other extension. Have we tried emailing them to TwoJacks?

I haven't, no. I might get around to trying that when I finish with Slayer's Guide.

I may try emailing those to you later. Currently, I'm trying to upload Pandora's Box and the Saved Game to the addons page.
