Hey all, can someone translate Slayers guide to getting Omens ring?

I get to the starting room where there is a note on the ground, and a switch to raise the gate next to me. there is a walk through wall that only allows passage once the gate switch is used. And there is a torch right on top of the walk through door....now, from reading Slayers guide, I can only guess the ring is on that torch. Can someone enlighten me? I've played this game for years, and that's like the only item I've never gotten besides that crazy magess' book.

Does that mean you've never done Omen's test properly? There's a certain book in the old Scylla temple that makes a world of sense only if you've endured the Test. Have you read it?

I'm getting tired of defending Prusa. . . You know oil and water don't mix, right? Prusa just wants to make sure you do :P

Funny, I did the test a LONG time ago, but I still don't understand that book.

Omens Test's is the Test of Initiation :P Reading that was the first time I realized that the Undine were related to the temple.

Oooohhhh...

And by the way, do all undines look like Omen? Is Pelagon's portrait perhaps the undine, and not him? Perhaps "Nothing" is Pelagon's real portrait?

Also, what are the bones doing there? For making undeads?

Undines can look like whatever they want to look like, right? I'm not sure I understand the question. . .
Joppa looks really weird too, but Atreus and Laodice look normal o.0

The bone's in the Test? I thought those were people who failed before you, or maybe something an Undine put there to freak you out; but you may be on to something there. . .

Come on, guys. Not everything has a reason of being there. Most things are just decoration. But what were those bones doing there?

For undead maybe, as I said before.

And what about Atreus and Laodice? Did I forget something?

I think Omen's look (and possibly Pelagon impersonator's) are the only true undine looks you ever see. The others are shapeshifting, probably.

Just in case someone doesn't know what I meant by "Nothing", it's that dead guy who's in the corner of every city.

I meant that Atreus and Laodice must be shapeshifting because they look so normal. Or else they really are human o.0

Are you suggesting that only Bellerophon can see Fake Pelagon as he really is?

It would make sense that the Undine would have "Nothing" spy on all the cities, but the fact that he's dead and you can continually kill him bugs me o.0

The fact that he is dead and you can kill him creeps me out.

No, I'm saying I think the portrait might be the dead real, innocent Pelagon. He might be a image, like Omen, a vision, a shadow, ghost, etc. But Stentor's the only one who's seen the real Pelagon. Who knows, maybe it drains energy to shapeshift...just a wild theory.

Wouldn't Itanos have seen the real Pelagon?

Is this topic too old? I feel like I've asked that too much. Oh well...

Anyways, I suppose Itanos has seen Pelagon. But he never really sees him now and Pelagon impersonator could have gradualy changed his face. Maybe Itanos thought he was getting old. I don't know. Is it possible that Pelagon impersonator impersonated a scylla, ate Pelagon, and shapeshifted into him? Another wild theory.

And lastly, it's weird Omen's test is called Omen's test, when it's really the undine's test. But Tavara was associated with the temple, so maybe he is Omen's master...

I see your point, but I don't see why Fakey would go to all that trouble. It would be safer for him to keep Pelagon's face anyway, wouldn't it?

Could be Fakey ate Pelagon, but we know he didn't eat Halos. So if he did eat Pelagon, it must've been for fun or out of hunger, lol.

Yeah, the name's a bit odd, but it's right at the beginning of the game; and I don't think they wanted to give away that Omen was an undine o.0

As I said before, it might use up power to shapeshift. Just a random theory, but otherwise who is "Nothing"?

As for the eating thing, most likely Mr. Impersonator just asked a servant scylla to eat Pelagon to form a non-suspicous death. I'm pretty sure he chose Pelagon because he was House Comana's majormodo, and the only good person involved with House Comana. Maybe he knew about the House Comana murder (you know, Canachus or whatever his name was). Halos was intended to be framed, not killed. Which means that killing Halos would involve Mr. Impersonator going to jail. That's not what he wanted, I'm sure.
