And Slayer says there are 49 spells. so...esactly how many are there, and how do I find what I dont have already?

Have you learned Runic and Healing? You might have not noticed you didn't learn spells when you clicked on a grimore...

I am not sure, anyway.
Just wondering

Most of the spells are pretty pointless anyways. Runes don't work right if at all, none of the offensive 'effect' spells do anything other than suck mana, charm works but your allies still attack the charmed victim, and tremor doesn't do any damage. You only really need about 2 casting to fit all of the useful spells anyways (although you do need enough casting to learn the spell, 4th degree hall spells need 4 casting and so on).

There's mage-unlock in the judges desk in Kosha

Yep, besides the mage-unlocker (which is mean to steal because the judge might need it for something, though you could replicate it), the only spells are in Pnyx. But isn't it fun to waste training points on Casting for no reason? lol

Death strike comes in handy during some of the earlier parts of the game. Fire ball (or something similar) is good against large groups, can take out almost all of the ruffian encampment instantly :P I am not a big fan of runes, I never found them useful, healing magic is good and daylight comes in handy sometimes.

Even when you have all of the casting and mana, and you think that you've found all the spells, it still tells you that you don't have them all, I think. I haven't played in a while, so this is just some derelict memory dragged from the back of my mind that may hold no significance at all.

Here's something I've always wondered though, and since the topic is called "Spell Issues" I may as well put it here.

Under Cythera Documentation, I found this screenshot (sorry, best quality I can get). You will notice 2 spells that aren't in the current version of the game (Closing the Veil and Removing the Veil). Were these spells removed before the game was released or after one of the new versions, not that there are very many versions? In the case of the latter, does anyone know what they do?

Well,...as for the vail spells, I believe I rmember something about those spells from a few years ago. I think they were simply renamed, but still in use. Thats all I remember, sorry.

ok, I stole the spell from Itanos (i'm a meanie, I know), and I already had healing and runes, and have gone through the pinx library a number of times, watching the (you already have this spell) message for each one. there is nothing new.

I was hopping to scribe them from Alarics spellbook, or Timons, but they cannot be used. Only tomes and pages. I also read from every bookshelf in cythera...that was enlightening by the way. Took four xtra strength excedrin to fix that mess.

by the way, just as a side note. I have been redecorating Landking Hall. There is a bed in each room...thats about it. I love fetch!

Who remembers playing an early version of EV and getting money to buy torpedoes and space bombs?

I do Perci, but not as well as I remember downloading more plugins than the game had files.

Possibly the spells are in that mysterious dresser in that blank white room in LandKing Hall? There might be a teleporter in some obscure tile of Cythera or something.

That's a definate possibility. I dont have any better ideas.

Ok, I just started a mage (yea, another one, I start over alot), and have gotten all my casting and magic points already ('what's his name' in pynx told me he could do no more for either trait.) Is there any way to raise my mana besides Alaric (who gives a point or 2 for 4 training points, if he gives anything at all), or by using pandora (which I really dont like using.)

Post script: I never use Pandora's Box (or Cheato Matic for windows) because I wind up fixing half my statz, getting bored, and never playing the game again.

Good find BreadWorld. I'll have to investigate into this further.

Edit: I couldn't find any refference in the data files about spells, but then again--most of the data (including most of the graphics) is encrypted. I did find out that the font used in the Game is "ArgosANouveau". Go figure.

Maybe the dresser was intended to be used with fetch...if fetch ever worked.

Huh? I just learned yet more mana from Alaric (since Lindus's was used up), saved, then learned the Dispel Runes spell (I picked this spell as a dummy spell since it never works, and I don't need it), and it said there was 12 spells I haven't learned. I learned Dispel Runes, (which I then reverted to learn more mana), but 12 spells? The veil spells, that other one, but still 9 spells.

Also, the pic in the documentation is from the beta. Look at Death Strike's icon.

From my experience, Glen only pops out of his hidey-hole once every year or so, and only for 5-minutes at a time ;)

If we wan't to get answers from him, I suggest we acertain his home adress and march to his front door under torchlight :P

He does not seem interested in Cythera at all. He even ignored my post at his own message board. Here.

He probably isn't. He's hinted that ever since he declared Cythera 2 will never be made.

Wow. I guess I should have done a search before posting. Oh well, the more posts the merrier. ;)
Btw, I think we should all start posting links the way BreadWorld does. It makes one sound smart (for a little while at least) B)

This is very sad. In fact, it brought a tear to my eye. Not only does he have no interest in his own game, but he's avoiding it now!
