I think the boards in general are going through a dull time.

We need another "Grievances against the Invision boards" topic. This board system is causing too many headaches everywhere.

Here goes:
- The new smilies suck.
- I want my karma!
- These colors suck.
- These boards are soooooooooo slow!
- BnB should be pink!

That should cover the topic. There are some features of Invision that I like though.

Good stuff:
Avatars
Custom titles
Links everywhere to useful little features

Bad stuff:
Slow
Doesn't keep old signatures
Is the wrong shade of blue

The only real gripe that I have with the new boards is that they now look exactly like all the other boards on the entire internet. All in all, though, I think we traded up when Hector dictated that the Ambrosia crew switch the boards to IPB.

As a user of the IPB boards for over a year plus now, i have to say they can get better, if someone around here tried. They can make new skins, so you won't have this blue. THe board itself isn't slow it's the server. The other board i am on loads in like 1/4 the time this place takes to load. More smilies can also be installed, including the old ones. ALso, there is the unreal portal, which allows for a bunch of stuff to be put on it, and it can be customized a bit. Like you can tell it to only show new stuff from 'this part of the board' or 'that part of the board'. Also, in replacement for karma, there is a fun thing that came out several months ago that i have also been using called the IPB Pro Battle Attack System. It's like an RPG. You can attack people, use items, attack some more. Not the most in depth, but the guy who made it is working on new features. Stuff i'd like to see in it is the ability to turn it off and not participate, or when you kill a person they can't post. But it's fun, and these boards are the best i've ever used. The board we used to have at my other forum used to be one with a karma system, but no one liked it. But now we love our new board.

I got here (I think) a little after we got these boards. But having been linked to topics in the old boards and having seen the other themes, I don't really like this board system. Kharma... I have no clue how well that worked. I do know that the transition made horrible messes of peoples' post counts.

Thhat is because of a bad installation. Correct installations leave those just fine. With the board i was on, we changed, and all our information was still their and functioning. Sigs, pictures, attachments, everything.

The old UBB was modified beyond recognition, so the installation was quite complicated, and yes, all posts from the EV Nova board were erased from post counts.

Karma was a wonderful thing; I had 3 or 4 i forget.

I was still a 0, but it was still good. If warnings were displayed, it would be a little better. I'm thinking about posting a topic to display your warning sometime soon.

You can. It's under your member number next to your posts. But your warning level is not something for everybody to see.

If anyone of you guys who is saying you know why she's left, actually knows why she left, Would you mind e mailing me. I have a feeling I know why, and if it's true, I might have to hate myself a little more.

Appreciate it...

Oh, i see my warning. I'm a admin on my other board, so i'm used to seeing it under everyones names. I'm also used to seeing a colored bar that shows the level.

Seems that way, though she last viewed the boards yesterday.

Maybe it might offend somebody, but nobody will be able to change if they never know what happened.

Post on the Cythera boards and I can give you a demonstration of the system. I think I did one to Pallas way back when the boards first switched over.

I don't get any fun on these new boards, the old ones karma was a modifier that all mods could affect globally, here its local. Nobody spams the Cythera boards. :/

I'm confused, as I was gone while this was started. She's gone, for good. And it looks like she won't be back? Man... I can't believe I've been on the boards long enough to feel sad about someone leaving an online community... I mean, shouldn't we at least get to know why?
