Fast food can hardly be defined as food. It is more like a food subsitute. Created by and for lazy-ass Americans who can't get off their butts and make a goddamn vegetable (fyi, dethawing vegetables is not 'making' them). Its nutritional value is sparce if exsistant at all. Most of it is just empty calories. Don't even get me started on soda.
Can you imagine if I was deranged?

Still, I'd rather have McDonald's than the stuff out of the school cafeteria.

The rolls are so hard you could nuke them and not obliterate them. You can throw them through windows.

The mashed potatoes... I better not.

I may be working on a different interpretation of fast food here than most, but the joints that I frequent serve food that, while probably more fattening than a meal I'd make for myself, certainly has a good amount of nutritional value. I have essentially four meals that I'll get on a normal day: #9 breakfast burrito and a small Coke from Golden Pride (fresh torilla filled with scrambled eggs, seasoned hash browns, cheddar cheese, a strip of maple-cured bacon, and a wad of roasted green chile), Golden Pride lunch deal with a side of green chile and cheddar (two carne adovada burritos, small fry, small Coke), Golden Pride Western Hash Browns (seasoned hash browns, pile of roasted green chile, shredded cheddar), small green chile stew (potatos, tomatos, ground beef, water, and more green chile than you could shake a stick at), tortilla, and small Coke, or my Pufervian sandwich detailed elsewhere on this board from the TA-IV Cafe. While I hate to think how many calories each of these meals has (the sandwich is probably pretty healthy, comparatively), there is a lot of nutrition in there as well. Every meal has a protein source, a couple vegetables, a couple starches/grains, and a dairy component, not to mention that all the chile I consume is chock full of vitamins and minerals. I'd have to say that I'm getting some pretty good nutrition out of my lunches every day.

Man, that is a lot of chile. You'd loose the will to live if you stayed in Ireland for any length of time. Or get addicted to that s###-hot British/French mustard.

Vec, do you consider Subway to be fast food? There is plenty of nutritional value in that. And there is plenty of nutriotional value in meats too. Yes, you a vegetarian, but that doesn't matter. You once told me you don't eat meat because it was raised to be eaten, and you don't eat fish that comes from fish farms. So if you aren't gonna eat anything that was raised on a farm so we can eat it, why do eat stuff like lettuce and carrots, and all the other vegetables out there. If you don't eat the domesticated kind, what kind do you eat? Wild Lettuce? I can imagine the discovery channel doing a documentary now. "Be careful, the wild lettuce is one of the most dangerous vegetables known to man. If not handled correctly it could kill you with it's razor sharp leafs. Now, when arppoaching, you must be very quiet, so as not to alert it to your presence. Damn! It got away! But look at it's beauty." Seriously now, I could care less if an animal was raised to be eaten, because as scientists so often like to say, animals have nowhere's near our thinking capacity. It's just stupid of people to think that it's so cruel to treat an animal in some kind of way, when scientists say these animals can barely think at all.

Also, soda has probably has more nutritional value to you than water alone does. Water puts back the energy needed, right? Well please explain to me how hydrogen and oxygen are going to produce the required chemicals to make glucose, and vitamins, and other stuff your body needs. Now meat may not have the protiens that other things have, but it has protiens other things don't, and they are protiens that are good for you. And just because you don't want someone eating fast food, does the same problem exist if i want a burger at home? Is it okay if i cook it myself? Am I allowed to have a burger at a nicer restaurant like Chevy's or Outback steakhouse? Those are not considered fast food, so do their burgers have more nutritional value? If yes, why? Better lettuce, cooked longer so there isn't so much fat and calories inside? God, I could go on about this, but my fingers are tired, and I need a shower. So you can take everything I said, chew on it for a while, and when the meat conversation starts to taste bad or makes you feel sick, then spit it out and get over that some people just don't care.

I find it ironic that adding cheese to any of subway's sandwiches doubles the cholesterol and calories. You have to have a pretty sparse sandwich (just meat, maybe lettuce) in order to get their widely-pronounced 6-carb meals.

Hmm.

I see Fluffy, a bot, and myself.

Okay, let's set a time. I'm available any time but... probably Tuesday. I need a job.

EDIT: and a level set or two. Can't be downloading the whole archive, for lack of room on my hard drives.
