I agree.

One of the best music videos is Closer by NIN. My best friend and I figured out why that song is so cool, if you listen to it, every single sound, even the vocals, is distorted, altered, reverbed, or something. Except, the metronome like ticking in the background. That is the only "clear" sound in the whole song. And you would almost not hear it, unless you listen for it, but it is there to contrast everything else. How cool is that?

Cool song. Cool music video too; I have the uncensored version on my computer. It's a brilliant example of how context can affect the emotional impact of even the most stereotypical content.

On a related note, Channel V of Australia voted it "Love Song for the 90s" recently...

Was that supposed to be an oxymoron? prolly... I would not say I have a refined taste in music, most definitly not. But I would say I listen to a broad range. Right now in my 5-disk CD changer (actually surround sound, but who's checking) I have as follows : Chevelle "Whats Next", Linkin Park "Meteora", the What Women Want soundtrack, a collection of Bach, and a CD of Japanese Shakuhachi and Koto.

In parts of the clip, she would appear not even to be wearing that. Strange... given the cliché "sex sells", her sales should be going up, but the more sex she puts into her albums, the less she sells...
