I have a 17 inch, and I have no purpose for anything bigger, however I have a laptop so I doubt a larger screen would be suitible.

So Moonunit owns a PC? WHY IS SHE HERE?

Why are you here? I mean, have you ever played a single game? Bah. Doesn't matter.

I bought an iBook a bit over a year and a half ago... Sorta grrrrr... I paid $1500 for what is now $994 + 100mhz faster. I guess that's life.

Is apple seriously dropping support for OS 9 on the new machines? I can hardly believe they would do such an idiotic thing.

We've been asking why µ is here for over half a year, with no convincing good answer yet.

And I think Apple has already dropped support for OS 9 on the new machines (at least, they don't start up in it), which is a very big bummer, because gaming in OS X isn't nearly as good for just about anything at least a year old. Classic is a horrible emulator as well, and many fun games aren't getting ported to X in the near future. Posted Image

PC's are just better for games, guys. Get it through your thick little heads that PC's are better for most applications. Yes, Mac's do kick major ass in overclocking and processing, but they just cant perform as many applications as a PC. The day of the Mac is quickly ending my friends. Im sorry to see it myself, but it is inevitable. I dont even prefer windows, Im a Linux boy.

This is one of the most flawed things I have ever heard. What do you mean, PC's are better for most applications? What you mean is that PCs have a lot more games available for them. The truly good games, however, are out for Mac, and Macs are superior in just about everything else. Also, according to what my sisters friend working at Apple says, Mac sales are increasing. Doesn't sound like coming too an end to me.

Count...slowly...to...ten...breathe...

Now then, item 1:

Whats this supposed to mean: "they just can't perform as many applications as a PC"?

Item 2:

"PCs are better for most applications."
Because...?

Item 3:

"PCs are just better for games."
Unfortuneately, this is indeed true.

Item 4:

"The day of the Mac is quickly ending my friends."

Shinobi, no. Just no. However many games are for PC the good ones get ported to Mac. Why do you say "The day of the Mac is quickly ending"? What proof do you have? Currently I'd say Apple is getting a lot more money from its iTunes music store and they just came out with Jaguar, and Halo is almost out for Mac. Also, our "thick little heads"? I'm taking that as a personal insult, so all I can say to you is: "f*ck you, pal."

PCs do have more games available. And unfortunately, not all of the good games get ported to Mac, but a vast number of them do (it depends on the company really). Macs can actually perform at least equally as many applications as a PC, as long as you have the RAM (which you can get up to 8GB if you wanted from Apple). Not to mention, Macs users can actually use many of the same applications Windows users can, not just through ports but the handy Mac application Virtual PC.

And if the day of the Mac is ending, then this webboard would cease to exist (being for a mac-based company), and we wouldn't have to listen to you anymore, so it wouldn't be too horrible. Most Mac users are dedicated Mac users (even if their jobs require a PC to use, they probably put up with it and have a Mac for the house), we're kind of like the Borg. That's how Apple managed to survive, through some of their less-than-good systems (that mess with 6? 7?) and they've begun a turnaround.

Maybe its the fact that I just absolutly refuse to use a single button mouse. It just isnt right to have just one button, you REQUIRE the right click. Speeds things up ssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. My firend Casey has an iMac, as you would know Moonunit. And well, I just can't use his computer. HE even hates it. I honestly think its a matter of personal preference. Macs do have superior processors. ALL HAIL THE G5.

You can get a two-click mouse for the Mac fairly easily, it just doesn't ship as a standard option. And, after a while you get used to using the control key to do a "right-click."

At least now I don't have to practice the sacred art of "okoresat sujinjut su" on you.

I never understood the big deal with a one-button mouse. As Av said, just control click. It's really not that hard... Besides, a one-button optical mouse is way better than that hideously shaped rollerball mouse peecees come with.

Yes, but my kickass brand new non-microsoft double buttoned mouse is better than any other optical mouse in the world. It's very cool. Maybe I'll post a picture (I mean a real picture froma camera, not a piece of art Posted Image) of it.
