I had forgotten you were in Albequerque until the day after I got back. We did spend some time touring the city, visiting the old house, the bridge my parents said it took the city forever to build (forgot the name, M-something? Its got blue and green tile patterns on it, I think) and a few other places of my distant childhood. Then again, you did spare yourself from meeting my brother, so its not a completely bad thing. I can't believe that visiting the Montaño Bridge was one of the highlights of your tour Posted Image

, and yeah the tree-huggers went crazy about that thing going up, they still occasionally hold protests blocking all the traffic from the West Side.

Coffee at Flying Star stands as an open invitation if you ever make it back down here.

Well, my parents said they waited for years, since people didn't want to open the bridge as it would make the population grow (as if that wouldn't happen anyway). They added the bridge after we moved (Nov '91), so I guess after almost eight years of waiting for something useful that they never got to see, they wanted to finally use it. And we'll see about the coffee, it might be a while before I go down there again.
