That means, "I might come. Then again, I might not."

And I don't see how you could have gotten an A for six years of Spanish with the horrific sentence you posted above. You used the 'you' form of necesitar while refering to yourself, and the sentence doesn't make much sense. "But, help me! I (you) need to ask at tomorrow! It is necessary that I do."

To me, 'maybe' means "If nothing else comes up, I'll come." I'm not sure. I never use 'Maybe." I use "Sure!", "Sorry, I can't", and "Dunno, I might be able to. Lemme check with my parents."

Remember, guys tend not to think in the same timeframe as girls. In fact, they're constantly having to readjust to "girl time" in any relationship - for instance, a guy who fails to "call the next day" probably just put it off, because if you're not going to go out again for a week or so, why rush to make arrangements?

So don't consume yourself with worry. Ask him again closer to the time, and if he's still noncommittal, tell him you'd really like to see him there and leave it at that.
