For your information, the Taliban had nothing to do with September 11. They just happened to be a particularly oppressive regime where it was convenient for Osama Bin Laden to hide, and when they wouldn't give him up, the US bombed Afghanistan back into the stone age - which was where the Taliban seemed to be trying to take it anyway.

Now, what did Osama Bin Laden have against the US? Well, it could have been the way in which the CIA trained and supported him early on, then abruptly withdrew their support. I mean, an unreasonable person like him might feel betrayed by that, right?

I just don't understand why she gets all the media's attention when there were probly 2 other kids that were abducted on the same day in theUnited States. The media should cover all abductions, not just one.

If they did, then we'd have an endless chain of death, rape, murder, and abduction. Every single kidnapping isn't really breaking national news; neither is this (except maybe that she was finally found after 9 months - though that's still not important to most people). I personally think the media focuses too much on negative events already.

Besides, what if the media doesn't know about the other abductions - or the parents don't want the info released on national TV?

Bin Laden had/has a spiritual agenda. Its all based on our support of Isreal.

That may or may not be true. I don't know. But I do know that part of it is definetly related to how our government backstabbed him early on. SA did a pretty good job of explaining that.

living in europe, i can say that people just dont like americans. Bin Laden may hve gone about telling us in the wrong way, but we needed to be told. I am sure that Bin Laden has some of his anger based in the U.S's meddling in Israel, but that surely isn't the only reason. Also, as SA said, the Taliban didn't do 9/11. SA did a pretty good job of summing up their part, but he also forgot to mention the other reason that America bombed Afghanistan:
They needed to bomb somebody. they needed some kind of symbol to beat the crap out of, to show that americans aren't sissies *snort*. i am acually kind of embarrased (sometimes scared)to tell people that i am american.

I think you could draw a parallel from the US today to Imperial Britain a hundred years ago, regarding the way other countries see us.

He's intrusted it all to me for the moment while he takes a nice, relaxing vacation somewhere on a remote undiscovered island. After all, what's the worst I could do while he's gone?

Haha! Do you really want to ask that question, Avatara?

A better question would be "do you really want an answer to that question?"
