I found the mirco manageing boring, so how do I get around it in a small cluster with 8 races hardest diff?

If you mean on your planets, you can give full powers to the Planetary Viceroy. If you mean in fleets, always select to give control of a battle over to your fleet admirals.

Set a developemental policy that will inform the viceroys what their priorities should be. Scrap the Eagle Attack and Hawk Defense designs every so often and rework them so the viceroys have state of the art plans.
You can set different priorities for different types of worlds.

Modyfied Psilons, yeah they suck asrh in fighting, but they kick arsh in research,
remove the cunning in spying and change gov to oligarki, get antaerian background, natual manufactors and superior manufacturing and you have a kick arsh Race.
