Hundreds of worlds... heh. I personally had figured the numbers around >10 for the Humans and Bazidanese, 10-20 for the Auds and Jeets, 20-30 for the Obish, gaitori, and Salrilians and 30-40 for the Ishimans and Cantharans. Of course, the technology level affects production as well, so I'm assuming that the largest (Ish/Can) have Gateship capability, the Salrillians have high enough technology to survive at that level. The Obish and gaitori have to have that many worlds to remain at any level of galactic influence. The Auds are kept down at that level, and the Eleejeetians don't care. The Humans had little time to expand before being conquered, and the Bazidanese don't really have "worlds," just little trading posts scattered throughout the Free Trade Zone.
Also, I think that the Cantharans arrived more than 100 years after the Apollo departed. It's even a little far-stretched to say that the Lalande colonies would still exist after 50 years, let alone 150.
