I had to leave my proper propane grill back in New Mexico and have been considering something like the George Foreman as a replacement, but am not sure of how decent a replacement it would make.

George Foreman grills are good and right. I strongly encourage you to acquire one.
If you do, be sure to get one with detachable heating plates. They make cleaning much easier.

A George Foreman isn't as good as a real grill, but it's easy, easy to clean, and good enough if it's all you have.
Currently making Possession 2, a game where you play as a ghost and possess your enemies.

Definitely get one with removable plates. Makes cleaning so much easier. I use mine all the time, very handy pieces of kit...
