You're right, I didn't. So I gave it a second chance. I can appreciate the piece in its technical difficulty with all the offbeatings and time signature changes. Must have been a beast to write and learn. But I still don't enjoy listening to it. It's a curiosity much like Picasso's cubism, but similarly, I don't buy picasso prints, or go searching for them online. Congratulations are due to the composer and the pianists, but I still don't respond to this music primally like I do to Mozart, Debussy, Beethoven, et cetera. This piece is borderline atonal and arrhythmic also, and I usually don't like pieces that don't make sense to my ear. But I won't go so far as to call this avant garde, which often isn't worth the manuscript paper on which it's written.
