1 bit = 1 piece of 8.
Pieces of 8 were once legal tender; 8 pieces of 8 = one dollar.
4 bits = 50 cents.

I just heard of a bit being 12.5 cents and remembered it as that. Interesting...

I'm going to start paying people in bits, but I'm going to round down instead of up. It should save me some money in the long run.

I'll be expecting my first payment any time now.

Trust me, it's a lot easier to say Bangkok than it is to say Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit.

it's not about how difficult it is to say-- when you ask "what?" they say "Bangkok!" and then hit you in a rather unpleasant manner, if you happen to be male...

things that aren't as fun as they're supposed to be:
--going to school stoned-- this really actually sucks, i was scared and confused for a good while, and i'm not doing that again for at LEAST a few months. :P

--birthdays. i know some people like it, but i hate when my birthday comes around. you get all that attention that just makes me really uncomfortable and people give you s### you don't want and you have to give a great big smile and say "thanks! it's great!" or something like that. the best part of birthdays is cake. i fecking love cake.

Y'know, I actually agree with you. This year I even forgot it was my birthday until my little sister gave me a gift card for Barnes & Nobles.

Going anywhere stoned = bad things.

I don't trust him. It'll be a link to Hamster's profile. I don't think Safari has the thingy where if you hover over the link, it tells you the url.
And the winner of the text only entry goes to CrazyChick for "Watch for B&B on bridge." Encountering the B&B anywhere is dangerous enough. Throwing a bridge into the recipe is an equation for disaster. - Ragashingo

No, but a bit of experimenting indicates that by selecting to reply to a particular post, you can see the URL in the quoted text.

That said, what would be wrong with linking to someone's profile?

You can just turn on the status bar at the bottom, which shows the address to which the link leads.
