Well, its already made me paranoid that people are adding in hidden messages to their posts, even if they aren't. So now I waste a lot of time mousing over every word and waiting for a tooltip to appear.

I don't think anyone will actually use the acronym tags for acronyms. That seems more trouble than it's worth.
