Ditto brookeview. If you make this ship and it turns out well, then sure.

Onto another thing, who else thinks that 9 (10?) ships is probably too much?

I don't think that you can consider 12 buildable ships (more than we have) excessive if you don't consider 7 buildable ships excessive. It's a matter of being able to build them, and if we were to let the player build 7, then we'd need two facilities that could, in total, support 12.

"Naturally. You could hardly claim to be an angel with those pointed ears, Mister Spock. But say you landed someplace with a pitchfork……"

I've updated the Arcade One file on my iDisk again...
Updates include:
* Joveia's 2x energy 2x weapon energy usage idea.
* Moved that new split-up pulse weapon to the Gaitori Carrier. It was too potent on a fast moving gunship
* A couple of bug fixes to the split-up pules weapon. The small pulses (before they became active) were didn't have a die none collide action and were causing too much damage.

I know I'm not on the team but I just had a very cool idea
In the plug it's War you get to play with cruise missile so why not make a missile cruiser? I know this seems overpowered but you could also have an escort class which releases chaff and flares which disable all missiles.
Missile Cruiser:
Shields : about equal to a HVC
Turning : midway between cruiser and gunship, not slow but no too zippy
Spees : cruiser speed so it can keep up
Weapons
1 : PK turret
2 : ?
3 : Cruise Missiles(2?)

To improve the cruise missile it should create multiple invisible objects when it dies, these objects should also cause damage when they collide creating the effect of splash damage.

So what do you think?

I don't think he's gone; I think he doesn't have the time right now. I hardly do.

I am leaving the webboards. Permanently.

I give the project to the combined management of it's members, at the moment, brookeview and Pallas (Slug has disappeared?) Good luck if you decide to follow through with it, I will certainly take the time to play anything that you make.

Goodbye, or as a german who is bilingual might put it 'au revoir.'

I was gone a bit but I'm back. As far as plugins go-- I'm sick to death with Hera. Lamont won't help me out with my StarLance problems, Hera's an incomplete and buggy tool, and the Ares community is now down to 6 or 7. Posted Image

Personally, I'm waiting for Coldstone to put all my Marbles. Not Hera. If you want, I'll give you all the meshes and graphics for the ships I've done. Just email me at gajet@slugsoft.f2s.com if you want them and any story info you want from me, or if you have any Hera questions.

My problem is that I've completely overloaded myself with my schedule (school and elsewhere). If I have a lot of time over Christmas Vacation, I'm probably the most suited for a "Hera replacement." I've poked around (in places where I probably shouldn't have) and prodded (ditto) and if I can actually get the time, we may have a fix.

The easiest thing, of course, would be if I were to get approval from ASW and Lamont to do it. The code structures are already in place, and I've got a good impression of how to put them into a better utility.

Interesting idea. I hope it works out.
On a side note I guess this was the "Final Edition" of this topic...

Cool ideas for new weapons:
1) Deflector Field, destroys incoming missiles, knocks ships away (and gives them a knock they won't forget.)
2) Booster, makes you go really fast and creates a glowing orb behind you which
damages stuff but doesn't die when it hits (i.e. you dash forward and do tons of
damage!)
3) Whirler Missile (name tentative), guided, does damage but doesn't explode
(age really high, but colliding sets it almost there(
4)Power Drain, no damage but takes all their energy

All these *might* be included with the Sestertian Chronicles plug!
