The tables are empty, the dance floor's deserted, you play the same love song, it's the tenth time you've heard it. That's the beginning, just one of the clues, you've had your first lesson, in learnin' the blues!

The thing about Americans is that you guys have no conception of what it is to live in a society where gun crime is the anomaly rather than the rule.
You're only saying that because it's true.
As such, why would you have us regular, law-abiding citizens disarmed? I'm not trying to turn this into another gun-control battle, I'm just curious as to why you can make such a statement as the one above and then discount its logical balance statement (since gun-crime is the norm, then protection afforded by a gun should also, reasonably, be the norm to counter balance the threat; basically a supply and demand type of relationship).

Besides, the reason there are sidearms in the country at all is because of "legitimate" users. Without legitimate users, the legitimate market dries up, less guns in the country, less guns for criminals.
Of course, the problem the US faces is that it's already drowning in pistols, and simply banning them wouldn't wipe out 50 million of the damn things...

Wine is the only liquid that can be describled as "dry"
What about gin, or sherry, etc. Various alcoholic beverages are the only liquids that can be described as "dry."
