In games where both players hit the 90 unit limit (I have had some) then the game will slow down a bit. However, since it's 2 player then I would not typically lower my settings from high, high (textures, models, everything is high normally.)
In games with more than me, and another player, I would start dropping the level of quality. For 4 player games, of which I occasionally partake in, then I would drop the settings to the very lowest. It does suck, unfortunately, to have do this in one of the new flat-panel imacs. Jesus!

Actually in Warcraft 3 they seem to get the long end of the stick...
1) They live forever and were the first race to be civilised in Kalimdor.
2) They were the one race in Warcraft who lived 'undisturbed' for the longest.
3) They are least affected by the ending in Warcraft 3, compared to a, humans being totally driven out of their homeland, and b, orcs being almost annihilated. Actually after that last battle there would be hardly any Orcs, Humans left in Kalimdor, Northrend, and most of non-Azeroth altogether...
