But then why would the Humans have those Colony ships laying around? Aha! I've got you!

Hundreds of worlds... heh. I personally had figured the numbers around >10 for the Humans and Bazidanese, 10-20 for the Auds and Jeets, 20-30 for the Obish, gaitori, and Salrilians and 30-40 for the Ishimans and Cantharans. Of course, the technology level affects production as well, so I'm assuming that the largest (Ish/Can) have Gateship capability, the Salrillians have high enough technology to survive at that level. The Obish and gaitori have to have that many worlds to remain at any level of galactic influence. The Auds are kept down at that level, and the Eleejeetians don't care. The Humans had little time to expand before being conquered, and the Bazidanese don't really have "worlds," just little trading posts scattered throughout the Free Trade Zone.
Also, I think that the Cantharans arrived more than 100 years after the Apollo departed. It's even a little far-stretched to say that the Lalande colonies would still exist after 50 years, let alone 150.

The Coalition forces design bureau is a joint team of Ishimans(Various protectorate races; the Ishimans don't really segregate,) and Humans that have been designing ships together. They have made up a very large number of powerful starfighters, putting a lot of firepower in cheap, quick to build and cheap to run ships that are replaceable in case they get shot down.
To go along with the fighters, they've designed the Racker. It uses racks to mount the fighters externally, so the racker is dropped into a system, (or uses its high speed FTL drive to get) right on top of an enemy ship, dump its fighters out EXTREMELY rapidly, preheated and ready to go, and get itself out to a safe distance, from which it uses its LRMs to pummel the battle from afar. Rackers are MUCH smaller and cheaper than carriers, but they can't really do much in the way of repairing the fighters. Only reloading can be done without sending crewmen out in pressure suits. Pilots get to and from their fighters by pressureized docking rings that let them avoid walking through a vacuum(even though all but the most foolhardy pilots don't wear pressure suits while in their fighters.

What do you mean, repair? Is there any way to call the fighters back into the bays?

The Fighters can fly right back onto the racks, but you have to understand: the racker has no bays. It has clamps that hold the fighters onto it, from where mechanical arms can reload the weapons and mount bombs/missiles, and pressure collars allow the pilots to get into their ships.
It is really NOT a carrier sized vessel at all. It is barely bigger than an HVD. All it does is extend the tactical range of the fighters that it carries, allow them a rapid drop time, and provide light supporting fire.
No bays! Bays= slow to launch fighters. Racks, Yes! Racks= Fast to launch fighters.

The Th'riha'n:
In the Audemedon ambush on the Obish forces, the Th'riha'n was split in half and drifted through the open jumpgate. The Obish at the other end received both parts, but a large portion of its technology was destroyed, preventing it from being fully rebuilt.
It is now about a third the size of an Obish battleship. With 1/2 the shields and the following weapons:
ProtoPulse Connon (The standard turret on a battleship, just not turreted)
CMissiles (Decreased capacity)
Stealth Field (Thanks to decreased size)

[NOTE: THIS CHARACTER ONLY HAS THE NAME IN COMMON WITH MY LAST ONE. I'M STARTING OVER.]
[CHAR INFO:
Name: Talon (No last name, that's his pirate/merc nick)
Race: Human
Allignment: Mercenary/Pirate
Ship:
Name: The Havoc
Type: Ishiman HVC Chassis, modified.
Modifications: Cloaking device, Replaced RPK beams wih RTPK cannon (see below), Replaced C-Missiles with Turreted Concussion missile launcher, Chassis enlarged slightly to provide room for 50 Concussion missiles.
PTPK Canon: Concealed 90 degree swivel cannon, usually retracted. Very low volume and mass requirements. Originally an Infantry weapon, the light (1/2 Pk beam strength) RTPK cannon was outlawed for ship use, because the guns were easily used even in the most crowded space ports. Very high firing rate, equal to almost 3 times the firing rate of a L-beam cannon (2).
------------------
This Vid is a bit like my beast; extremely long, and best enjoyed with a mouthful of nuts.
