Umm, one problem unless you're using Sheepshaver Cythera's music will be all dut-dut and funky.

Actually, I haven't had that problem. It's rather interesting, but Classic plays the music in Cythera perfectly. On the other hand, Sheepshaver has much better gameplay but messes up the music more often than classic. Perhaps it depends upon your computer and OS version among other things.

Are you talking about booting in OS 9 or Classic, because the first one doesn't have the problem but the latter does.

My computer is an iMac G5, so it can't boot into OS 9. When I had a G3, though, I did boot into OS 9 to play Cythera because Classic emulated the game very poorly on that computer. For some reason, on my current comp, the game runs much better under Classic, and the music is absolutely perfect. So, yes, I'm talking about Classic :P

Okay, I've got an iMac G4 so I guess that explains it. I have trouble believing Apple actually enhanced classic though, I thought they gave up on it because they had already been thinking of the Intel switch.

Sadly, that is true. Leopard will not support Classic in any form, even running on PPC Macs. I was very upset by this, and it is the one snag that will make upgrading to Leopard painful for me. Sheepshaver is a good emulator for Cythera and most other classic applications, but it seems to have a really hard time dealing with some of my games, like Master of Orion II and Power Pete. Until I can find a perfect solution for playing my old games, my feelings are very torn about the loss of Classic and upgrade to Leopard.

Anyways, just something that's been bothering me.

Yeah, it worked with Tiger on PPC Macs, just not Intels.

Well I guess it's time to stock up on old Macs. I've got two, though one's been at a repair place for a year...I don't think it's coming back but at least I don't pay until it does! :P
