So today it was -9 degrees outside with wind chill. And let's be honest here, it's always windy. Also snowed a bunch. My feet were quite cold, but it was my hands that took the biggest beating. The air is so dry that my right hand now has a huge crackling red rash type thing because the skin is all dried out and I kinda rubbed it by accident. My lip cracked a few days ago but seems to be healing up. Generally speaking the environment is being pretty brutal on my body. I love it. For it is only when nature challenges your survival on a daily basis that you are truly alive.

No, it's been in a cold snap here (lows around -15 to -20°F) for some time and I certainly don't feel more alive. As a matter of fact, when I have to go out in this (which one has to do a lot when the fuel line on one's car freezes) my brain can only process two thoughts/feelings:

1) F*ck! It's cold!
2) It's cold! F*ck!

If I had the luxury of being able to load up on long johns and parkas and whatnot, I wouldn't mind. But I'm sort of obligated to wear a suit. Now if you go out in a suit with a kasmir coat on in -20°F weather, you're going to get cold fast.

What's kasmir?

And of course I'm behind in sheer total randomness! I haven't had as much practise! My partner in crime is going to a different high-school to me. *Sob*

Okay I spelled cashmere entirely wrong. Anyway, it's a rather expensive and luxuriously soft wool.

Okay, I need to say something that's actually productive... Dang that's hard...

Ah yes, it's foggy outside, my feet are purple and the weather man said it was supposed to be warm today! Grr...

I thought splitting high schools was something only my district did...

It wouldn't happen to be GHS/CHHS, would it?

Black ice, frozen fuel lines, car accidents, frost bite... If I want to feel alive I'll go to the dojo or a party. I'm sick of the cold (and I'm born and raised in Minnesota).

Hot summer days where you have to eat tons of ice-cream to survive, being able to wear that cool strapless top you bought in winter, not having to wear jerseys, eating jelly in the shade by the pool, dangling your feet in the cold, cold water on a blistering hot day... the possiblilties are endless.

You can do something about being cold and I like wintery weather garb. When it's hot, on the other hand, once you're naked there's not much you can do.
